AIRPORT POLICE OFFICER
Airport Police Officers establish and maintain a safe atmosphere for tenants, employees, and the traveling public within Newport News Williamsburg Airport.
Starting Pay Rate: $19.00/hour
Responsibility:
• Perform law enforcement and security patrols of airport property providing protection to tenants and traveling public.
• Monitor and enforce airport regulations including enforcing parking regulations.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
• Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Highschool graduate or equivalent
• Must possess or have possessed within the last 24 months a valid Commonwealth of VA Basic Law Enforcement (BLE) police officer certification,
to include completion of a formal field training officer (FT) program.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug test

Overview
The Fire Chief is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all operations within the fire department. This position requires a dedicated individual who possesses strong management skills, extensive knowledge of fire safety protocols, and the ability to lead a team effectively in emergency situations.
Duties
• Assume responsibility for the overall management and performance of the Airport Fire Department under the general direction of the Director of Operations.
• Develop and implement fire department policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Manage daily operations of the fire department, including staffing, training, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate emergency response efforts during fires, medical emergencies, and other incidents.
• Conduct regular inspections of fire equipment and facilities to ensure readiness and compliance with safety standards.
• Prepare and manage the annual departmental budget and ensures that expenditures remain within budgetary limitations.
• Makes recommendations to the Airport Commission regarding the operations and requirements of the Airport Fire Department.
• Responsible for development of the Airport Emergency Plan.
• Develop and facilitate FAA mandated tabletop/full scale exercises.
Experience
Candidates for the Fire Chief position should possess a combination of education and experience that demonstrates their capability in this critical role. Preferred qualifications include:
• Must meet the professional qualifications required by the Commonwealth of Virginia for Fire Instructor III and successfully complete the Aircraft Rescue Firefighter Certification within 1 year of hire.
• Seven years of progressively responsible experience in the delivery of firefighting and related emergency services, including the delivery of emergency medical services at the basic life support (BLS) level.
• Experience with Emergency Operation Centers (EOC) operations. Five years must be in career firefighting, five years in aircraft rescue is strongly preferred. Three years must have been in a supervisory position, preferably at a chief officer level.
• Must be certified as an NFPA 472, Hazardous Materials-Operation-Level (State, IFSAC or ProBoard issued).
• Possess a valid Virginia Driver’s license an meet PAC driving record requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility to hold a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge as may be required by assigned job duties and responsibilities
• Proven leadership skills with experience in managing teams effectively.
• Mechanical knowledge related to fire apparatus and equipment maintenance.
• Certification in CPR, Basic Life Support (BLS), First Aid, and vital signs assessment.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during emergency situations.
• A valid commercial driving license is preferred for operating fire vehicles.

OPERATIONS AGENT:

Overview:
The operations agent (airside) is an entry-level all-encompassing position that involves the day-to-day operations at Newport News Williamsburg Airport. As part of the operations team, the operations agent is involved in the daily operational activity, ensuring the airport is operated safely and securely, and enforcement of applicable federal, state, and local regulations about airport operations, and safety and security,
Responsibilities:
– Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations including but not limited to FAA Part 139, FAA Part 77, and Airport Rules and Regulations.
-Responds to incidents and emergencies as required.
-Conducts daily perimeter inspections.
-Inspects terminal roadways, parking lots for maintenance related items and adherence to local regulations.
-Reviews NOTAMS’s for accuracy and issues/cancels NOTAMS as required.
-Provides on-call availability for response to emergency situations and winter weather events.
Knowledge/Skills:
– Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs)
– Ability to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently

JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN
Job description
The Peninsula Airport Commission is seeking a full-time to join our team. Responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, inspection, and repairs of all electrical distribution systems owned and operated by the Peninsula Airport Commission. These will include all normal building-related systems, landside lighting for parking lots and roadways, and specialized systems that are specifically related to the commercial airport industry.
The person in this performs skilled work involving the maintenance and repair tasks from blueprints, sketches, and verbal/written instructional The employee in thus classification oversees other craftsman and assists the Terminal Maintenance Supervisor in daily operation of the section as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
· Performs general electrical work to include the installation and repair of conduit, wiring, panel boards, lighting indoor/outdoor, and automatic transfer switches.
· Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair all PAC owned electrical systems and equipment.
· Maintain runway and taxiway airfield lighting and control systems including re-lamping, fixture rebuilding and underground cable fault locating and repair.
· Maintain all electrical service and distribution equipment in the airfield lighting vaults including troubleshooting and repairing of constant current regulators, lighting control systems, emergency generators and automatic transfer switches.
· Maintain electrical systems normally associated with large commercial buildings.
· Repairs, services and maintains public address system, fire alarm, and baggage conveyer systems.
· Services controls and various system controls associated with the airport main terminal.
· Maintains sufficient inventory of all electrical supplies as needed to ensure continuous operation of all systems as described above.
· Performs other general maintenance related duties (painting, minor plumbing, tile, and general carpentry) as assigned.
· Operates plow, blower/sander/backhoe and other equipment as needed.
· Member of snow/ice removal team operation.
Education
