AIRPORT POLICE OFFICER
Airport Police Officers establish and maintain a safe atmosphere for tenants, employees, and the traveling public within Newport News Williamsburg Airport.

Starting Pay Rate: $21.00/hour

Responsibility:
• Perform law enforcement and security patrols of airport property providing protection to tenants and traveling public.
• Monitor and enforce airport regulations including enforcing parking regulations.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
• Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Highschool graduate or equivalent
• Must possess or have possessed within the last 24 months a valid Commonwealth of VA Basic Law Enforcement (BLE) police officer certification,
to include completion of a formal field training officer (FT) program.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug test
• Must possess valid driver’s license

Grounds Maintenance Craftsman II
The Peninsula Airport Commission is seeking a positive, team-oriented individual to fill the position of Grounds Maintenance Craftsman II at Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport.
This position performs a wide range of ground maintenance duties to ensure safe and efficient airport operations.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Snow and ice removal operations
• Airfield pavement and surface repairs
• General grounds maintenance
• Underground water and sewer pipe repair
• Operating heavy equipment such as backhoes, dump trucks, lawn tractors, and related machinery
• Using hand tools and maintaining small engine equipment
• Performing duties as assigned by the Grounds Supervisor and/or Grounds Foreman
• Assisting with painting airfield and ground markings (preferred)
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience in grounds maintenance and related work
• Ability to safely operate heavy equipment and machinery
• Working knowledge of hand tools and small engine equipment
• CDL, or the ability to obtain a CDL within one year of employment, is required
Schedule & Pay:
• Monday through Friday schedule
• Must be available for on-call response as required for airport operations
• Starting salary $17.00 per hour
